The ability of the Stowers Institute to discover
genes and proteins that provide clues to the origin of diseases depends, in large
measure, on the growth of the endowment and its ability to support new scientists and
establish additional laboratories.
The present 600,000-square-foot facility will allow the Institute to grow to as many as 35 separate, fully staffed laboratories. The expense of equipping and maintaining each research
team and laboratory is staggering. Individual pieces of equipment often run
in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The Stowers Institute offers prospective donors an opportunity to use their dollars to improve the future of human health by establishing a Hope Shares® account.
Hope Shares For Science
A tax-deductible donation of at least $1,000* qualifies
to open a Hope Shares** account in your name or in memory of a loved one.
Donors receive an annual
Hope
Shares statement which reflects the way the value of the gift has grown with the Institute's endowment in the previous year.
Extraordinary gifts may be recognized with naming
opportunities on our campus, or by associating your name, or that of someone you
wish to honor, with a specific research project or lecture series. We also welcome
your interest in assisting the Institute through bequests, trusts or gifts of
stock.
You can download a donation form here, or contact the Stowers Resource Management Inc. at (816) 926-4015 or HopeShares@stowers-institute.org for more information.
To make a secure credit card donation Online, visit the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation DonorEdge® Web site. Please complete and mail the donation form along with a printed record of your DonorEdge donation.
No matter how large or small your gifts, you
will be forever remembered for making possible the research that provides Hope
for Life®.
*Gifts of less than $1,000
are added to a pooled account until individual gifts total $1,000.
** Hope Shares are a permanent record
of your gifts to the Institute and are designed to make you aware of how much
your contributions grow over time to help humankind. The worth of those shares
will fluctuate as the total value of the endowment changes. These Hope Shares
are in your name or that of your designee, while the value of the shares remains
an asset of the Institute. Certain categories of very large gifts will not be
reflected in Hope Shares accounts because the donors are recognized in other ways.
